A Dirge of Sorrow

Statue for little Gilbert Armbruster (unk-1914) in Woodlawn Cemetery, 800 Grant Boulevard, Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York. I was unable to determine who Gilbert’s parents were or how old he was when he died, but he must have been very special to someone. Woodlawn Cemetery was established in 1881 and serves as a quiet, well-maintained resting place for over 30,000 departed residents.

  1. Nice – I love looking for sculpture in cemeteries – Especially when I visit my son in New Orleans.

    Thanks for sharing.
