Final Curtain

Headstone for Nathan (1795-1842) and Susan Parks (1796-1879) in Riverside Cemetery on William Street, just south of the Oswegatchie River, in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York. This is a fine example of a “white bronze”, or zinc, grave marker sold in the late 19th Century. This type of marker never caught on, but here you can see it’s nearly 140 years old and is as clear and readable as the day it was made.
