Rulers of the Desolate Lands

This unusual monument memorializes two women who died within a few months of each other: Lydia Brayton and Julianna Belknap, in Eaton’s Bush Cemetery, off State Route 169 north of Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York. Their age difference leads me to believe they were mother and daughter. Eaton’s Bush is a small rural cemetery on a hill overlooking North Creek. It’s definitely seen better days.
